🎶 It's the most 🎶 wonderful time 🎶 of the year!  Charleston has so much to offer all year round and the Holiday Season is one of favorite our times for so many reasons. Getting around to see friends, family and neighbors... Giving thanks and helping others... Finding a quiet moment in some amazing places that are typically well-visited the rest of the year... Amazing properties decked out with lights, wreaths, and such... Epic Holiday Parties!    We could go on forever.

Here are some of our favorite Holiday events year in and year out:

Holiday Festival of Lights

One of Charleston's great traditions, the Holiday Festival of Lights continues to improve year-after-year. This is fun for all ages and you don't even have to get out of your car! If you are feeling active, walk to the village area and grab a hot cocoa, some s'mores, and check out some local artistry and various performances. It's a super popular event so best to arrive early and beat the traffic.

November 9 through January 1 at the James Island County Park.

Sunday - Thursday: 5:30 - 10 p.m.

Friday and Saturday: 5:30 - 11 p.m.

Visit CCPRC.com for pricing details and alerts.

Sullivan's Island Fire Station and Park Holiday Lighting Ceremony

Mark your calendar for the annual holiday lighting ceremony this Friday 11-30-18 at 5pm. The Fire Department has been working hard all week to decorate the Fire Station, Town Hall and Stith Park.  If you have never attended, this is a great way to start the holiday season. The Wando High School chorus will perform early in the evening, pizza and hot chocolate will be served and it is even possible that a special visitor from the North Pole will make an appearance to talk with all the children.

Friday November 30th, 2018 at 5pm on Middle Street

Isle of Palms Holiday Street Festival

Head down to Front Beach IOP help us all get into the Holiday Spirit, "Island Style"! This free event will have live music, carnival rides, food and craft vendors and even a visit from Beach Santa! At approximately 5:45pm the city will officially light the 24' tree on Front Beach.

Free entertainment includes: Carnival Rides, Jump Castles, Mechanical Bull, Face Painting, Balloon Artist and more!

Performances by:
Sullivan's Island Elementary Chorus 2:00-2:15pm
Shem Creek Boogie Band 2:30-4:30pm
Blackwater Rhythm and Blues Band 5:00-7:00pm

Saturday December 1, 2018 from 2pm - 7pm on Front Beach (Ocean Blvd)

City of Charleston Holiday Parade

Enjoy historic Charleston and take in a Parade all in the same day! The parade route is very walkable and travels along some of Charleston's greatest corridors: Broad Street and King Street. When it's over we like to hang around downtown for a festive beverage and dinner at any one of our favorite restaurants.

Sunday, December 2, 2018. The Parade will begin promptly at 3:00 PM on Broad Street at Rutledge Avenue, travel North on King Street, and conclude on Calhoun Street at Meeting Street.

Mount Pleasant Christmas Parade

This is a fun event for all ages. Kids enjoy the parade lights and adults enjoy the tailgating.  More than 100 brilliantly lit floats will march down Coleman Boulevard as the Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade sets sail to the delight of thousands of residents and visitors. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a fireworks display at the Town of Mount Pleasant recreation field next to Town Hall, immediately followed by the parade. The parade starts at Mill Street and end at Patriots Point Blvd, around 8:00 p.m.

Sunday December 9th, 2018 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm on Coleman Blvd

28th Annual Reindeer Run

The Reindeer Run, presented by Half-Moon Outfitters, is a family-oriented, pet-friendly 5k run/walk through the lower peninsula of downtown Charleston, SC. The event has grown significantly over the years; from only a few hundred participants to record attendance of over 3,500 runners. Throughout the history of the event, the Charitable Society of Charleston (CSC) has donated over $1,000,000 to MUSC Children’s Hospital. The costume contest is a crowd favorite and they are bringing it back again for 2018. Dress up in your festive best and enter the contest!

Saturday, December 8th at 9am at East Bay & Queen Streets

Parade of Boats

Charleston Harbor

Of course Charleston would have a Parade of Boats! The parade of boats can be seen all around the Charleston Harbor - even if you don't have a boat.  The Rotary Club of Charleston has one of the best viewing parties at Charleston Maritime Center (for a fee) that includes a catered dinner by Swig & Swine, hot chocolate and cash bar, live entertainment, premier viewing of the Boat Parade at the pier, and special appearances by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, as well as Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg. VIP Tickets are available that include unlimited drinks and premiere viewing platform. Raffle drawing for a $40,000 2019 Sea Fox 200 Viper Bay Boat will be held immediately following the Parade of Boats. Official judging of the Parade of Boats takes place from this viewing location as well so you know it's the best seat in town. And it's all for a good cause!

Sunday December 9th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Charleston Maritime Center, 10 Wharfside Street, Charleston, SC

Breakfast with Santa

Boardwalk Inn at Wild Dunes

This is a fun event for the kids. Rudolph's pancake buffet has plenty of sweet toppings and hot chocolate. After breakfast, make sure to get a picture with Santa Claus to commemorate the occasion.

Saturday, December 15 & Saturday, December 22 between 8:30 - 10:30 a.m
